The President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Bishop Francis Wale Oke, has urged Christian leaders across the country to unite in earnest prayer for Nigeria, as the nation faces deep economic and security challenges.

Speaking in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, during a special retreat marking 40 years of the PFN’s ministry, Bishop Oke called for a renewed commitment to seeking God’s face. He declared that despite the storm, there is hope on the horizon and a brighter future ahead for Nigeria.

“Our beloved country needs divine intervention, and only the Lord can bring about the change we long for,” he said. “God has entrusted us with spiritual leadership through the PFN, and we must rise to this responsibility with faith, humility, and persistence in prayer.”

Quoting the Scripture from 2 Chronicles 7:14, Bishop Oke reminded the congregation that God promises healing when His people humble themselves and call on His name. “He has said in His Word, ‘If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves and seek My face, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins, and heal their land.’ Nigeria needs healing, and God will do it,” he affirmed.

Reflecting on the theme of the conference, PFN Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow, the bishop encouraged the faithful to remember what God has done, trust in what He is doing, and believe in what He will yet accomplish. He emphasized that while darkness may appear overwhelming, the light of Christ cannot be extinguished.

“Banditry, kidnappings, and all forms of violence are the works of darkness,” he said. “But the light of God, through the PFN and the Body of Christ, is shining brighter. And the darkness will not overcome it.”

Bishop Oke reiterated the PFN’s mission of building a godly society through intercession, fasting, the preaching of the Gospel, and calling the nation to repentance. He expressed confidence that God is not done with Nigeria and that revival is coming.

“Nigeria will be better,” he said with assurance. “Let us keep our faith alive, join hands in prayer, and trust God for His perfect will to be done in our land.”
