Pastor Abel Damina of Abel Damina Ministries International has sparked controversy with his recent statements regarding church offerings and tithes. In a sermon that went viral, he asserted that the funds collected in churches do not belong to God but are instead used by men.

Damina emphasized, “No offering goes to heaven. Every offering we collect is used by men. All the offerings we give to God go to men.” He challenged the common pastoral rhetoric that suggests offerings and tithes are exclusively for divine purposes, claiming that many preachers who demand tithes do not practice what they preach.

He criticized the idea that paying tithes opens the “windows of heaven,” stating, “The doors have been open since Jesus rose from the dead.” According to Damina, those who collect tithes often do not contribute to communal support, leading to allegations of hypocrisy within the church.

In his remarks, he urged congregants to reconsider their understanding of financial contributions to the church, highlighting the need for transparency and accountability among church leaders.
