A recent statement by Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has ignited a lively discussion on social media. During the church’s annual ‘Let’s Go A-Fishing’ program, titled ‘Good News’, Adeboye proclaimed that “Jesus Christ is the only one who can save humanity.”
Adeboye made these comments during an event that has been a key part of the church’s mission to spread the gospel across Nigeria for over two decades. He emphasized that Jesus Christ came to Earth, took on humanity’s sins, and offered salvation and eternal life to all who believe.
“Jesus Christ’s mission is to save humanity. Christ came to earth, bore humanity’s sins, and offered salvation and eternal life to all who will believe,” he stated.
His powerful message resonated with the audience, resulting in numerous altar calls where thousands dedicated their lives to Christ.
However, Adeboye’s remarks sparked mixed reactions online. While many supported his statement, others challenged it. One commenter argued, “Jesus Christ is not God. He is only a messenger.”
The discourse surrounding Adeboye’s comments reflects broader debates within religious communities about the nature of Christ and the path to salvation, highlighting the diverse perspectives among believers and non-believers alike.
