The Christian Conscience Group has urged President Bola Tinubu to implement structures ensuring the 2025 budget benefits all Nigerians. This advice emerged from their monthly executive meeting in Lagos on December 23, with a statement co-signed by national President Dr. (Mrs.) Yetunde Akinluyi and national Secretary Revd Dr. Kolawole Verrals.
While acknowledging past government programs, the group highlighted ongoing challenges with their implementation. They called on President Tinubu to establish mechanisms that translate the budget into tangible improvements in citizens’ lives.
The group also appealed to political leaders and technocrats responsible for budget execution to act with sincerity and integrity. They expressed concern over the hardships caused by federal reforms but noted optimism following President Tinubu’s recent assurances.
In the spirit of the season, the group encouraged Nigerians to support the less privileged, advocating for moderate celebrations and generosity towards those in need.
