Pastor Williams Kumuyi, General Superintendent of the Deeper Life Bible Church, recently addressed the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) during its biennial conference in Abuja. He urged church leaders to “burn the bridge behind them” to exceed their limits in ministry.

Speaking on the theme “Exceeding Previous Limits of Life and Ministry,” Kumuyi emphasized that pastors must identify their current limits and focus on the higher calling of God. He encouraged them to forget past successes and failures to facilitate growth within their ministries.

Drawing from the biblical stories of Elijah and Elisha, Kumuyi noted that Elisha received a double portion of Elijah’s power and performed twice as many miracles. He stressed the importance of forming strong bonds with mentors, as Elisha did with Elijah, to achieve impactful ministry.

Kumuyi warned against becoming entangled in worldly affairs, quoting scripture to highlight the need for pastors to prioritize their relationship with God. He also cautioned against the misuse of speech, referencing the biblical figure Samson, and urged leaders to pursue growth actively in their personal and ministry lives.
