Dr. Daniel Olukoya, General Overseer of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM), has issued a sobering warning to Christians around the world: Do not waste time — it is a spiritual disaster.
Preaching during a recent YouTube broadcast, the respected prayer general described time as a “dangerous and mysterious thing” that must be handled with utmost care and purpose. According to him, the careless use of time is equivalent to spiritual suicide.
Quoting Ecclesiastes 3:1–8, Dr. Olukoya reminded his listeners that “to everything, there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.” He explained that every aspect of human life—from birth to death, from planting to reaping—operates under the law of divine timing. Therefore, failure to use time wisely is not just a personal loss but a violation of God’s order.
“You cannot turn back the hand of the clock,” Olukoya said. “Even if you turn your wall clock back to 4:00, time elsewhere keeps moving. Once time is lost, it is lost forever.”
He further explained that time, unlike materials such as paper or plastic, cannot be recycled. When time is misused or wasted, there is no second chance to relive it.
“One thing you can never recycle is wasted time,” he warned. “The danger with time is that if you waste time, time will waste you.”
Dr. Olukoya didn’t mince words as he addressed the foolishness of time-wasting, declaring: “If you play with time, you are a great fool indeed.” He noted that the devil thrives on distraction, delay, and procrastination—and Christians who fall into this trap lose valuable moments meant for divine assignments.
He emphasized that “the management of time is the management of your days.” Every second misused is a moment forfeited in God’s plan. He urged believers to live intentionally, to redeem the time (Ephesians 5:16), and to embrace discipline in their daily routines, goals, and spiritual commitments.
In conclusion, Dr. Olukoya called on all believers, young and old, ministers and laypersons, to take inventory of how they spend their time and make necessary changes.
“Live with urgency,” he said. “Don’t just exist—fulfill your purpose.”
