His Imperial Majesty, Oba Abimbola Akeem Owoade I, the newly installed Alaafin of Oyo, has been recognized for his deep commitment to church service, particularly during his time at the Vineyard of Comfort of the Christ Apostolic Church in Winnipeg, Canada. Members of the church have shared moving testimonies about his humility and dedication, highlighting his willingness to perform even the most menial tasks, such as cleaning the church and maintaining its facilities.

Adepeju Adepite, head of the Sanctuary Keepers Unit, recalled how the new Alaafin approached her to join the unit when there were no male volunteers willing to help. His initiative not only encouraged others to join but also positioned him as a leader within the church community.

The impact of the Alaafin’s wife, Abiwumi Owoade, has also been significant. Members testified to her passion for evangelism and her determination to bring others to Christ, reinforcing the couple’s shared mission of faith and service.

Lead Pastor Fela Keshinro commended the Alaafin’s dual identity as a leader and a humble servant, urging the congregation to pray for both him and his wife as they embark on their new responsibilities.

Oba Owoade, now the 46th Alaafin of Oyo, was installed on April 5, 2025, succeeding the late Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III. His diverse educational background and professional experience, including roles in project management and engineering, equip him to make a meaningful impact in Oyo State.

As he assumes his royal duties, it is expected that his strong foundation in Christian values and service will guide his leadership, fostering a spirit of unity and transformation within the community. This serves as a powerful reminder of how faith can influence leadership and inspire others to serve in the Kingdom of God.
