In a powerful post-match moment, Crystal Palace captain Joel Ward used the FA Cup celebrations as a platform to share his Christian faith with his teammates in the dressing room.

A video shared by the popular Ballers in God Instagram page, with over 500,000 followers, shows Ward passionately addressing the team:“Something that I hold dearly is obviously my faith. In Jeremiah 29:11, it talks about how God has a plan and a purpose for our lives. You may not believe… but personally I believe that everyone here is here for a reason and we do all have a purpose in our lives.”

The 35-year-old defender, who has spent 13 years at the club and will be stepping down as captain this summer, went on to affirm the potential he sees in his teammates, calling them “a special group of guys.”

Fans flooded the comment section with praise. One follower wrote, “It’s beautiful to see the work of God in Palace… clearly God is at the centre of their success.” Ward’s bold declaration is being celebrated by Christians around the world as a shining example of witnessing in the public square.

As he prepares for a new chapter, believers are praying that his legacy on and off the pitch continues to reflect God’s purpose.
