Christian publisher Lifeway is launching a Bible to help children and adults with dyslexia access the word of God.
The Grace Bible features a special font, entitled ‘Grace’, which has been developed with the University of Cambridge and typographic company 2K/DENMARK. It emphasises differences between the letters ‘m’ and ‘n’, and ‘p’ and ‘q’.
Dyslexia is a learning disability, which primarily impacts reading and writing. It is estimated that 1 in 5 people experience it.
Ben Mandrell, president of Lifeway said: “Kids who feel intimidated by reading can feel comfortable with this new typeface in a Bible that’s made specifically with them in mind.
“Dyslexia shouldn’t keep kids from reading the Bible. At its core, the Grace Bible for Kids is meeting the need of helping young readers interact and connect with God in a personal way through His Word.”
An adult version will also be published, with the same readability features.
