Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to urgently address Nigeria’s escalating security issues, especially in light of concerns raised by U.S. President Donald Trump.

Speaking after the November Holy Ghost Service themed “The Eve of Glory,” Pastor Adeboye emphasized the sanctity of human life and recommended that the Federal Government give security chiefs a 90-day ultimatum to decisively eliminate terrorist groups or face dismissal.

He noted that he had previously offered similar advice to the late President Muhammadu Buhari, lamenting that although there was initial progress, efforts were not sustained for lasting peace.

Pastor Adeboye called on the government to identify and expose the sponsors of terrorism and insurgency throughout the country, irrespective of their power or influence. He also suggested that President Tinubu engage diplomatically with Trump to secure a 100-day grace period before any international action is taken against Nigeria, using this time to eradicate terrorism.

“In my usual quiet way, I have related with all the presidents who were around when this trouble started. You can only advise the Commander-in-Chief — you can’t command him,” he stated.

“If I were to make suggestions, I would say to our government: move fast, move diplomatically, move wisely. Find a way to convince the President of America to delay his actions for about 100 days. Then come home and tell our security chiefs to get rid of these terrorists within 90 days or resign.”

He referenced a previous order from Buhari, noting that while it was issued, it was not followed through effectively. Adeboye insisted that the current administration must not only eliminate the terrorists but also their sponsors, regardless of their status.

“This is not the time for jokes or arguments. Innocent people are dying,” he warned, highlighting the urgency of the situation.
