Pastor David Ibiyeomie of Salvation Ministries has delivered a stirring message encouraging Christians to live purposefully and productively, warning against the dangers of laziness and idle talk.

Preaching on the topic “Living A Life of Influence – Part 2” during the Supersonic Sunday Service, Pastor Ibiyeomie classified people into three categories sleepers, daydreamers, and workers urging believers to strive to be part of the third group.

“The world is made up of sleepers who do nothing, daydreamers who talk big without action, and workers who make things happen,” he said. Quoting Proverbs 14:23, he emphasized that “in all labour there is profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty.”

He described sleepers as those who wish for success but make no effort, and daydreamers as individuals who make grand claims with no practical steps. “Someone says, ‘I’m starting a business with ₦450 million,’ yet he doesn’t have ₦450,000 — that’s not faith, that’s fantasy,” he said.

The pastor held up biblical figures like Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Jesus, and Paul as examples of diligent workers, stating that productivity is foundational to influence. “Even the Messiah was a worker. How can we claim to follow Him yet not engage in meaningful labour?” he asked.

He encouraged the congregation to evaluate their daily output by asking: “What have I achieved today?” Stressing the importance of time management, he added, “If you were awake for 10 hours and achieved nothing, you’re wasting your future.”

Pastor Ibiyeomie concluded with a charge for self-assessment and discipline: “Every day, take stock of how you spend your time. Great men don’t just value time they redeem it.”

The message was well received, reinforcing the church’s ongoing focus on faith-driven responsibility and personal development.
